Storyline One

 

A mysterious woman lives in a one bedroomed flat on her own. Emma is plain, young and close to giving up. She's new to the area and is used to the quiet country life, which she left behind after a divorce. Deciding to move to Barnsley wasn't her choice but the small amount of money her ex-husband parted with left her with no choice. Her life was dull and a struggle, until  her neighbour, Bonny,  introduces herself and turns Emma's life around. Bonny also lives alone, but by choice and loves every second of it. She teaches ex housewife Emma that life isn't all about cleaning but about getting out there and having fun. Time passes and things start to go downhill. Emma begins to realise that Bonny isn't as perfect as it seemed and that she had more secrets than truths. After getting introduced to Bonny's rich parents, she overhears them talking about Bonny's medication and how somethings bound to happen if she carries on refusing to take it. Emma confronts Bonny about what she heard but she reassures her it was nothing. Emma doesn't want to let it go and feels she should know, as her friend. Bonny starts getting really protective over Emma and doesn't like it when she talks to strangers. When Emma gets asked out by a friend she met whilst shopping, Bonny is not impressed. In effort to get attention off Emma, Bonny fakes a mugging and gives herself s few bruises and cuts. Emma rushes home after receiving the phone call but still feels she doesn't want to let her date down. In a quick effort to try and stop the date from going ahead Bonny approaches Jack and warns him that if he comes anywhere near Emma again, she'll make him pay. Emma is distraught that her date didn't show up and doesn't know why. Bonny tells her it was for the best and Emma begins to question what she said to him to scare him off. Bonny breaks into tears, stating that she thought they only needed each other and that they were not going to let men get in the way. She starts getting angry and grasps onto Emma's wrist, where Emma pulls away and tells Bonny that she's acting strange. Bonny is now fuming and doesn't understand why Emma is being so touchy when it was her who arranged to meet someone in her time of need. She accidentally mentions the way she's been craving attention of her and not getting any. Emma realises about the mugging and edges away. Bonny is now in tears begging her not to leave. Emma walks out of her flat, leaving Bonny on her own. The screen goes black and flashes the image of Bonny's medication bottle.
