Final Storyline

Greed Storyline

A friendly but money obsessed girl feels she has hit rock bottom. Her aims to be successful in life are not working out how she planned. She finds herself working in a dead end job, struggling to pay her rent. She owes money left, right and centre to friends that have been helping her out in her time of need. She's running out of excuses and feels she has to confront her friends seriously and inform them of the situation she is in. She confesses to her dearest friend, that she will not be able to pay her back any time soon and that she's struggling to find the money for rent. Her friend looks around, and speaks quietly. She says that what she is about to tell her, must not be shared between anyone else. Her friend, She tells her about a loan shark on Market Street that lends money as long as you pay it back over a certain period. She tells her that this may be her only option and that she would be able to pay the money back in her own time. She also asks her if she would like to stay over at her house and house sit as she is going away. She's not sure as this would basically be putting her into more debt.

She walks through the town centre after work. A sales woman approaches her and hand her a leaflet advertising money lenders.  Walking under the tunnels leading to her home, she can't stop thinking about the situation. Walking up to her flat, she receives a phone call informing her that she has lost her job, due to insufficient sales, she argues slightly, gives up.

She wakes up, sits on the side of her bed staring at one of the leaflets. She starts hearing voices, her friends advice about how its her only option. She goes to the fridge, opens it and it's bare. She puts her outdated coat, and puts her mucky white shoes on. She walks out and down a couple of side roads, until she gets to a run down area with a building that has a sign for "Loan Shark Inside". She enters. The shop has no lights except the low office light that coming from the back office. She knocks quietly on the door and a deep voice says "enter". She walks in and looks around. The room is small, with two seats separated by a table. She asks whilst stuttering if this was the loan shark office. He tells he to take a seat. She sits. There's an awkward silence for a couple of seconds but it's broken by the man clearing his throat.

She looks at him. An older looking man, with stubble and bold. He puts his hands together and lays them on the table. "I've been told you..." She gets interrupted by a deep, harsh sounding voice. "I don't know what you  have been told, but I am going to tell you what you need to know. I don't lend money for free and I don't like stupid excuses. If you stick to my rules, we will get along just fine. Lets not waste time." She nods. He then starts to explain the rules of her contract. " 1. You will work for the money you receive which will be £2 million, 2. You must kill someone in return 3....". She cuts him off "Kill someone? I can't do that. What is this?". He looks at her with a gaze of disappointment.
"Why? It's just a person? For £2 million, are you sure?".
She says " But it's not right, it could be someone's partner, child, mum... dad!".
He replies "It's either them and the money or nothing, nothing at all. You have no job, and you expect one to land on your lap in this economy?".
She says "No, well not really. But I can't do this"
He says "Well say goodbye to the money"
She says  "I guess it's a lot of money for one person isn't it. I mean people die every day, right? Can I think about it and come back?"
He says "no you have to choose now"
She says "but but but"
He says "no buts. It's now or never"
She says "*gulp* I'll d, d, d, do it".
He gives her a cheque and explains that she will receive a letter in 1 week, with her task instructions. "I think that's everything" He promptly gets up and walks out the door. She chases after him, but he has disappeared.

She purchases her own home, a car and plenty of clothes.

She has been crossing her calendar out for one week and she wakes up feeling nervous. The letter arrives. She opens it and there is an image of herself, saying "I hope you have made the most of your earnings. Now for your job, you must kill:" The screen goes black.
